Grandma's House

These photos are from way back in February. I took a new camera on a little visit at Grandma's house. The film got developed right away, but I have held on to the photos for all of this time. These are from a snowy day in February, way back in St. Louis.

My aunt and wife both grabbed cameras and went out to play, too. The dogs were running around while we snapped photos. Grandma was inside making us hot cocoa to warm up with when we came back inside.

Saint Louis to Oklahoma

Day one... a new mug, an eager gnome, and off we go.

There are not many photos because this day was mostly so surreal that I didn't think to get the camera out very often. A cow on a brown landscape, some phone booths, and my family were all that seemed to stand out to me. Saying goodbye to the place that I had called home for 31 years was a bit overpowering on the first day.

Grandma the Jewelry Maker

My grandma has gotten quite crafty lately. She is making all sorts of pretty jewelry for people. I think it is pretty cool that she picked up a new hobby, and she loves it!

Christmas Eve at Grandma's

We spent Christmas Eve at my grandma's house this year. We were promised dinner, but were also treated to some tasty pumpkin pie! My grandma can bake a pie better than anyone.

My aunt and I were directed to peel potatoes. We got to work like pro's and I only cut my fingers twice.

My grandma's Prince, watched all of the kitchen commotion from the peaceful living room chair.

We were put to work fixing the front door while we were there. It was something like 18 degrees outside and we got pretty chilly, even though it didn't take long to fix. Just like when I was a kid playing in the snow, if you come in cold, you get hot cocoa. :)

Anniversary Hiking

For our "met-each-other" anniversary this year, we decided to go hiking at Washington State Park. We settled on a roughly 6.3 mile trail, packed up our snacks and cameras, and headed south to explore. Surprises were in store though...

This place had so many bugs... huge, buzzing, swarming, annoying bugs. It got so bad at one point, that Kim picked a small tree and was literally waving it around in the air around our heads trying to keep the bugs away. Those bugs eventually got the best of us. Well, one bug got the best of Kim. She got stung on the neck. Thankfully, she doesn't have the kind of reactions that I have to such things. We also ran into what seemed to be a rattlesnake on this trail. Honestly, scared the crud out of us both and our "hike" was more like a "trail run" around that time. Ha!
