Snuggle Cat

Zoe was so happy that Kim was home from work one day last week, that she couldn't keep her paw off of her. They literally held hands for several minutes. So very cute. She also has a new love of being tucked in and wrapped in blankets. While our little beast may have a bad attitude sometimes, she sure makes up for it in these moments. :)

A Lunar Eclipse

Over the late night of April 14th into April 15th, the moon moved into our shadow and gave us quite a show.  I ran out to an open area nearby and set up a tripod to try to capture this event. Here is my take on the "blood moon" lunar eclipse.

A Whale of a Tale

This trip to the beach was an exciting one. I opted for leaving the cameras at home and just going to enjoy the beach. Of course, all of the wildlife must have known that and came out to play. Luckily, Kim keeps a little point and shoot digital in her bag for these moments. It was a lovely day... sunny, warm. We saw a lizard, a few dolphins, got pood on by seagulls, and the one that got the little camera out... a big whale!

He's a big boy...

At first, this is what we saw... a tad unsettling! And just for scale, see the sand in the bottom left corner? This guy was not far away.

Then his nose popped out! :)

And that fin, and its spots...

A little further down the beach, there seemed to be a little whale with the big whale!

Bye bye nose!

Cave Explorers

Another trip to one of our favorite beaches... this time, we found a cave. :)

A dark tunnel in the cave... my eyes could not see what my camera could see in this photo. Kinda creepy!

And on the other side of the cave? A tiny beach and big rocky cliff to climb. :)

I love these pictures of my wife. She was waiting for a big wave...

And the big wave found her!

So she backed up a bit. :)

These were some of the best waves I've seen since getting to California. Big, rolling, and loud. I love the "boom" when they crash.

The sun finally came out, so nap time on the beach. :)
