Laguna Beach Stroll

We took a walk around a little cove in Laguna. A nice walk on the beach at sunset is a therapeutic way to spend an evening. We went to Wahoo's for a quick dinner after our walk. Of course. :)

This last photo is something a little special to me. We were visiting California back in November 2011, and right before we left, we came down to the beach. "Ashley" was written on the staircase and I took a photo. Ashley is my cousin, who we lost to suicide in 2010. Now, July 2014... we went back down to that beach, and Ashley was still there.

A Beachy Weekend

We had a beachy weekend. A new camera seems to kicked us out of the house and onto the sand. Corona Del Mar and Huntington on Friday, Santa Monica Saturday, and back to Huntington on Sunday morning. We had to get back home after this little jaunt though. Germany had a World Cup to win! :)

Santa Monica Saturday

Our first trip to Santa Monica was pretty fun. It was crowded, but this is California in the summer. It's crowded everywhere. I had a hungry meltdown halfway through the day, which was quickly solved by a Korean BBQ food truck and picnic next to the beach. We saw a crab and got hit by a frisbee. It was a full day. :)

I go under every pier and take the same photo apparently.

This photo is for my dad. I wonder if he'll see it. This guy has big ole handlebars on his bicycle. And wearing leathers like a Harley man. Then rode off with a bell ringing on the handlebars. :)

We'll be going back at some point to visit this camera obscura when it reopens. It was closed for renovations. It's a real walk-in camera obscura!

Lunch time. Sit in the grass, fend off the greedy birds, and eat amazing burritos. Recover from a bad case of the hangries.

Who needs dessert when you have cameras?

This beach has quite a different scene. Some streets felt like what I imagine San Francisco to be. Others, not so much. Cars everywhere. People packed around the pier. Summer in California.
