Anza-Borrego: Rocks and Boulders

One of my very favorite parts of the desert wilderness has to be the piles of rocks. Boulders and rocks that just beg to be played on. Anza-Borrego has no shortage of these piles and boulders.

Our first day there, we drove down a random little dirt road and found the first set of rocks to wander around on.

This big hill of rocks was our backyard for the night. Right before sunset, we trekked up to the top to get a better view of the sunset.

I found a shark.

And we made it to the top, to look over the other side of the hill!

Windy. Great hair. :)

The view of our camp from the top.

And sitting to rest...

As my wife continues to play...

A bright pink cactus flower, growing out of a big rock.

Then we climbed the rocks on the other side of our camp, to see the sun over this hill.

The second day, we drove way out into the desert on a dirt path, to find a bunch of scraggly, burnt up trees.

And more big rocks to climb. :)
