Oklahoma to Arizona

Day two... more photos were taken today because of the incredible boredom one feels while driving through a wintery southern landscape for hours on end. We departed Oklahoma City bright and early and rolled into a dreary Texas with sleep still in our eyes.

We managed to stay on course for most of our journey, despite knowing that there were many things and places we could have stopped and seen. This one place was a must-see though. Some old Cadillacs are planted in the ground and are frequently tagged by people with spray paint cans.
Welcome to Cadillac Ranch.

Back on the road! We swapped places and Kim took the lead for awhile.

Texas to New Mexico...

It was pretty cool to see the landscapes change as we drove. Things went from brown to colorful, flat to bumpy, bland to colorful.

A pit stop to check on the beast...

New Mexico to Arizona...
I appreciate that the sign says to bring your cameras.

And as we got close to our resting point for the night, the sunset decide to put on a show. It was beautiful.

Saint Louis to Oklahoma

Day one... a new mug, an eager gnome, and off we go.
Saint Louis to Oklahoma City, with a well-behaved cat, two cars, lots of luggage and lots of nerves.

A family selfie, with the cat in a cage.

There are not many photos because this day was mostly so surreal that I didn't think to get the camera out very often. A cow on a brown landscape, some phone booths, and my family were all that seemed to stand out to me. Saying goodbye to the place that I had called home for 31 years was a bit overpowering on the first day.
