Holga Time

The Holga went to the Botanical Gardens and down to the St. Louis river front and Arch over the course of the last couple of months. Finally developed and scanned the film!

Elephant Rocks

We spent a lazy Sunday taking a drive out of the city to a big pile of rocks. This is Elephant Rocks State Park. These are digital, more on film coming later.

You see the face, too, right?

Ok, so I liked this building almost as much as the rocks.

You see the foot rock, right? With toes? :)

Pretty Kitty

We have the prettiest-faced sweetest goober of a cat ever. See?

RIP Neil Armstrong

Neil Armstrong is someone that I grew up admiring. I remember hearing about his adventures to the moon and being completely amazed. I had an ornament that hung on our Christmas tree for most of my childhood that showed Mr. Armstrong in his fancy spacesuit. Even cooler, if you pressed a button on the bottom, you got to hear his famous line... "that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." I greatly admired him.

We were walking down the street today, and the headline popped up on my phone. I had to stop for a moment. Neil Armstrong passed away.

I was thinking throughout the day about the influence his small steps (giant leap) had on my life and I remembered our trip to Apollo Park in Titusville, Florida last year. The park was built to honor the many Apollo missions and astronauts, including Neil Armstrong. It was fun to put my hand in "his hand" and to just imagine the great things he got to experience in his life.

In memory of a great man...
“I am, and ever will be, a white-socks, pocket-protector, nerdy engineer, born under the second law of thermodynamics, steeped in steam tables, in love with free-body diagrams, transformed by Laplace and propelled by compressible flow." - Neil Armstrong

The Color Run

We joined the masses in downtown Saint Louis last weekend for a very fun event. The Color Run hosts these 5k "runs" all over the country. Basically, you run (or walk or crawl...) through bursts of colored dust. You start nice and clean and wearing white. You end covered in colorful dirtiness. It was awesome. We had a blast. :)
