San Francisco: The Cable Car Museum

The Cable Car Museum! This is kind of the hub for these cars. The "rope floor" is a bustle of activity, full of spiraling wheels of cable pulling the cars all over the city. This is some serious mechanical beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed wandering around this place, but not as much as riding the cars it pulls and pushes. :)

San Francisco: One Year Rose

On our first full day of walking around the city and exploring, my wife saw this man in a little booth selling flowers. Without a word, she stopped and handed me her bag, and walked over to buy a flower. She brought me a single red rose - one pretty flower for one wonderful year. I should add, she got me a pretty daisy on our actual anniversary. I love her.

The pretty rose rode around in my backpack all day.

And, of course, there was a pretty rose photo shoot later at the hotel. :)

In other celebratory news, we had It's-It desserts! I've been told these are a must when visiting San Francisco. Considering that I love cookies and ice cream, it was tasty. :)

This is a random fun little photo from our hotel room. My wife loves to go to bed with fuzzy socks on her feet. At some point during the night, she always kicks them off. They remain snuggly tucked into the bed until laundry day. In the hotel room, her chilly toes went to bed wrapped up, but lost their fuzzy socks like normal. The next morning, we got up and headed out to the city. We were kindly greeted by her fuzzy socks waiting on the corner of the bed, placed ever so cutely by our room service. We both walked in and laughed at this... I had to take a photo. It might be a "you had to be there" story, or a "you have to be married to her" story, but it still makes me smile. :)

San Francisco: The Big Red Bridge

This was a "bucket list" trip for me for two things: 1) see the Golden Gate Bridge and 2) ride a cable car. Two things to check off! I know this is a subject that is often photographed, but I am thrilled that I got a shot at it. It's a very pretty bridge, with a fierce wind blowing over it and some gorgeous views. :)

Someone needed a snack after walking into the wind tunnel for a couple of hours. :)

San Francisco: The Castro

The Castro is a colorful little neighborhood. We road a cable car to the street car line, which we then rode to the Castro for breakfast at the Squat and Gobble. The street car feels like a bit of a time warp.

The giant rainbow flag let's you know you have arrived.

The web of street car wires that dangle overhead are all of this city.

The Castro Theatre.

Rainbows everywhere! :)

San Francisco: The Water Front

We took a chilly, evening stroll down to the water on our last night in town. Big ships and more graffiti! :)

This is on the walkway out to the water. It says "Place Feet - Point and Click - For Shitty Photo".
So, I placed my feet, raised my camera, and the result is the next photo...

Not so shitty, in my opinion?!
